Is Wipro creating a database of employees caught during background verification and sharing with other companies?

So if a person makes a mistake is he not given another chance?OK,is Wipro a court-of law or what? How can they expose and blacklist people?

From where are Naxalites born?I won’t go to the root cause but definitely Wipro will hurt the feelings of those employees who were caught, its fine to terminate but is it fine to blacklist them, that sign of arrogance.

They dont have a right to expose other peoples data/identity,Isnt this an integrity issue?

Sending people on B1 visa and making them work as dogs,Isn’t this an integrity issue?

Recruiting people when required and firing them when not required and also blacklisting them,Is this what a moral of a big company is?

What is the guarantee that these people don’t turn out to be anti-social elements because they are exposed to everyone as “fake resume” guys.

Wipro for God’s sake dont do that. You dont have the right spoil someones LIFE.

I beleive you are going overboard. I am sure the new firm (who is interviewing the candiate) might have contacted Wipro for feedback/ reason for leaving of the candidate and thus, Wipro might have shared the details.

It certainly cannot be proactive sharing.

Hiring managers are within their rights to check references. If a database of bad apples speeds up the hiring process for the good apples, more power to it!

If a person is thrown out for a minor discrepancy in resume, it is unfair. But what right does a candidate have to show fake degrees and non-existing work experience. These padded resumes only hurts the more deserving candidates and Indian IT industry reputation, resulting in even fewer IT jobs for all of us.

If being mildly punished (asked to leave and from a job that he did not deserve in any case and warning others) for faking resume is all it takes for someone to join Naxal movement rather than learn, work hard and be honest in the future, I think that person should be hanged at the earliest before his kills someone.

I, an ex-Satyamite who thoroughly detested the stay there, appreciate the motive behind this site. Ideally, we should expose companies with bad business/HR practice as well educate young employees who may take unethical shortcuts instead of working hard. Just like many seemingly professional companies have bad ethics, many undeserving candidates too are not above board.

Otherwise, this site would become a mirror of a cancerous communist movement, solely responsible for killing professionalism and entrepreneurism in many parts of the world, including in India. We don’t want the IT industry, currently already facing many problems, to meet the fate of now defunct Mumbai Textile industry of 70-80s and Bengali industry since 1960s.

It is fair enough for a company to terminate the employment but i dont think it is right to expose the candidate information to others, not sure if wipro is doing it.

First of all i think before an offer letter is given to a person the companies should perform the background check.

    Anony,

Your company fakes degrees and work experience? They need to be exposed and blacklisted. BTW, Why are you still working there?

Embellishing skills is a subjective thing. Almost every IT resume, even that of a fresher, mentions ‘Proficient in Java, J2EE, Struts, C++, C#, embedded tech, Perl, python, oracle, SQL Server, SAP everything’, without knowing even spelling sometime. Still this is subjective and but faking employment record, qualification, identity etc is criminal, whether it is by a company or an individual.

This behavior may be OK under current Indian law, but the laws is many countries where India Inc does business - including the US, Canada, UK, Western Europe - frown on this. One simply *CANNOT* disclose negative info about prior employees.

This will impact Wipro’s (and other perpetrators) ability to grow clients and people in these markets. People will not want to work under these illegal conditions. Customers will not trust you with their business.

I think the choice is pretty easy. Integrity and character of the people that make up a firm are usually correlated to the leadership and the example they set.

Time to get with the program, folks.

Faking Academic and professional Experience is illegal, I completely agree with it.
Did any body think why people do fake; it is because of the hiring strategies of the Indian companies, unlike other countries we do not have a liberty to change our field of work. If you want to enter as a fresher into IT having prior construction, marketing or other experience. you are not allowed..though you are skilled.
Indian graduate are more enthusiastic to work for IT, may be because of its high pay, and they fake to change their field of work as they are not allowed as freshers.
If talent is recognized rather than concentrating on their previous non IT experience, the faking percentage would decrease, anyway I would not agree the strategies of WIPRO sharing the negative information proactively to others, it is like playing with someone’s career & life, rather than this, they can be proactive by doing all background verification check done before offering the employment, and until someone approaches WIPRO they should not disclose it to anyone.
WIPRO has its own rights to terminate in case of fake, but WIPRO is not court of law to publish it everyone else.
I know the arguments are perception dependent

    Hi
I think Wipro is one of the most selfish company..
when there is a req. of guies that time by knowing everything HR’s of Wipro are taking the guies from the market but when the market is down that time they are showing how much they are pure by kicking those guies who already worked there around 1 to 2 yrs…for them..
showing ake is a bad thing but the guies who appeared their degree and still not able to get a job, what they ll do atlast..for sustaining in the market they can do anything..
showing degree certificates fake ia a big crime
but I am not saying.. showing fake exp… is geninune..
but what the guy ll do…atlast…that is the question…
    and abt the comanies …
they are telling so many fake things to the client while getting a project..
    but noe implementing those…
also they are earning minimun 2 lakhs per guy for a month
but what they r paying to the guy everyone knows that..
so this point of view are the companies genuine..
nobody knows what is the medicine for this…
from all these points one can conclude that
Wipro is a big busted company….
    thats it…

Wipro is going to fire people in large numbers. I came to know this through reliable sources. They are planning to revive the existing bottom 5 concept with bottom 10.Once the hike letters are released, there will be a mass firing. Guys be careful and start looking for the alternatives.

    Hurry up hurry up

Wipro started firing bottom layer employees(2-3yrs exp), Guys thts 100% true, they r going to fire a huge amount to people to reduce their bench strength, so all wipro employees start looking for other opportunities outside wipro….

Shows that Wipro is unable to get projects and compete in the market. It is anyway a hopeless company to work in. There biggest overhead are the 2 joint CEO’s, I am sure they can do as well with one as Infosys, TCS and others. They should kick off one of them as they are certainly paid more the 30-40 software engineers.
