One person from CTS his name is Parthiv Patel (Name changed on request) put his papers because he did’nt get promotions. But his higher officals convinced him by giving more incentive and promise to give promotion (SPM) in next cycle. Is this best way to get promotions. This way of getting promotions is very common in CTS Testing.
Surely he will get promotion in next cycle. It is happening to another person in CTS testing group name called Gopi
is this fair? Then how come other got promotions?

Cognizant sucks!! With the lastest HR policy, they first informed that salary has been revised, later on they disclosed that it was a benefit amount and no salary has actually increased. instead it has decreased.

When I appeared for interview, I know another girl who was not selected.
2 months later i found her in next training batch. She manage to fake her first rejection in prior selection process and got inside company.

Heard Cognizant is recruitmenting more to increase head count.
Already it has got hell of poor quality people, few more will get in.
Better they should put proper tracking mechamism.
You can enter data in timesheet and leave management system accepts leave for the same day.

All of us jumbled and of course there was lot of noise as guys started shouting on name of Cognizant HR.
Next day one person from HR came.
He scolded those guys and threaten to fire them out.

any moment, you raise a concern for mis-hap at least 4-5 will stand against to put you down.
Even if you are correct, you get in 0.1 %.

I joined CTS as fresher. After confirmation, many from our batch they get their salary package reduced.
When inquired to HR, they said it was some system error and will get corrected.
Cognizant HR took more months to correct their own mistake.

I heard girl working in pune office found her manager is trying to take advantage of her innocency.
No room to approach. Senior manager in chennai. When tried through HR, that lady gave her stupid smile and said do not put comments anywhere outside.
Cognizant is reputated company. If you talk this out, your reputation will be spoiled! Needless to say, nothing happened to that manager.
Well educated girl reliazed people & culture in cognizant and resigned within next few days.

Guys, let me tell you one thing. This company is not mature and worth to put value on.
Time waste.
Cognizant has got no norms, no formal definition for dividing opportunities across the layers.
Getting transfers is headake. You have put muska to those disgusting RMG folks.
When you are in project they promise you saying get release and then I will look for you.
Then you have to convice your manager a lot for release. Even if there is no work or your interest / skillsets mismatch, it takes longer time to get out of one project.
The moment now you are back to RMG, person talking to you will avoid you sending some other guy next to his desk.
You will have to explain him all again.
He will question you whether your reason is really valid or not.
He will make you wait further adding to your frustruation. And at last they will tell you now our requirements have changed.
Same time, they might put whole training batch / new recruitment to the same centre you are asking trasfer for.
I know a lady who was sitting next to our team. Her family was in hyderabad. She was 5 months pregnant and these folks were not facilitating her trasfer.
RMG guy in chennai was famous for such work style And Lakshmi agreed to know about this guy in power lunch.
Two of my friends, both were working in Cognizant. The girl’s PL was very jealous about this couple.
He purposefully put them in different shifts. Girl in 2nd shift and her husband in night shift.
Ridiculous.
Both of them tried to escalate, but there was no proper response or hearing.
This company has no aggressive policy to break such bad ethics and keep environment clean.

I have seen hard working employees, 4-5 yrs exp still working as Programmer Analyst vs freshers joining and getting promoted to Associate within 2 yrs.

And together these bengali’s use to drive the whole system the way they want.

By those comment, I think CTS is not good or may be worse at technology, Human Resource (Finance , Training and core Human resource) and Project Management.
And sad part is after even having so many compliment about such organization, student from IIT, IIM and REC join such company.
I would prefer student should join infosys, Wipro, Satyam or TCS than cognizant.

I have been with Cognizant for 4 years. And although not perfect the company does display many of the attributes that I admire.
It is focused on customer delivery and I Have seen the company do many things for associates like facilitating transfers onsite, encouraging and paying for education, and generally providing opportunities for direct interaction.
When a company has rown so rapidly there are bound to be kinks in the culture, but I have generally foundsenior management willing to listen and to do things where it makes sense.
I know this is contrarian view given that everyone on this site seems to want to complain about their circumstances, but at Cognizant my expereince has been tha tif you work hard, earn credibility through delivery and take direct action you will be listened to.

Its not that bad company. But after reading this blog, may be my opinion is from reason, I got into relatively better team.
From incidents in other teams, I do agree with couple of comments here.
For a non-tamil, adjusting in chennai is headache. Most of people keep on talking tamil in office. Sort of regionalism & brahmin domination exists.
HR are pathetic.
Managers themselves talk about immaturity, politics and arrogancy within company.
Higher management is not much serious to stop this.
When organizational level decisions are not strict ultimately that comes as company culture.
Main reason I think Cognizant does not come into brand companies list.

Folks, I understand your feeling, am also a person affected by all the politics and the ‘language’ issues. I wont brand a company because of few peoples in that company. No person will automatically turn to evil or good, just coz they joined a company. I agree that there are ‘bad’ guys in Cognizant too, but what do you expect from 50,000 people (nbr of employees)? There will be different type of people, so here too its the same. Infy, Wipro, TCS etc dont recruit people from heaven, they too get guys from the same college/school/area you are from. So its just in the game. If you dont like anything, try to change it. If you have facts, then escalate it to the highest level. Even after that it didnt change anything, then quit and go to another ‘favorite’ company (am sure that you wont find any difference there, pretty soon! ).
Dont generalize things, no company has all bad people or all good people, its the reality.

Yet every country has got its own flavour.
A guy who is working in IT company has got passion for driving. On road this guy drives with full speed, breaking signals… following no traffic rules.
He gets on an onsite assignment to USA. Getting in USA, the same guy starts following all traffic rules while driving.
Why?
Because, USA has got strict traffic rules. A moment you break rule, Cops will be right behind you.
All people in USA are not from heaven.
Still same guy behaves differently just on getting in another country. On return from USA, this guy again gets on old driving style.
It means, external environment, surrounding culture does matter on how a person behaves.
If you understand, your boss is lier / cheater, either you quit or if no option, keep quite & start adopting to same culture for own survival.

It is a very shocking news that u people are writing such useless craps.Who gave u the rights to crush down any company’s reputation???
Always rember no IT company is running after you to come and join them. Only u are the person who is chasing to join abranded company,to get some good package and reputation with all the comforts.
When your aim is fullfilled like “u r getting promotion,hike in salary,getting onsite oppertunity” then CTS is a very good company bt if it is nt happening with u then it is bad…

When there is a crisis in the IT Market all the big companies are throughing out people like anything.But this company never does that.And in case of worst thing it also gives alternatives.
I think who never qualified a interview round with CTS can write like this all bad qualities…

About food subsidy , think once again.is it good or bad??Obviously it is one of employee beneficial scheme..CTS is nt compelling to take food from canteen.It is giving you salary to spend in any ways you like to spend. It is the employee who wants to save his money in some ways.Who is telling u not to go to Regency,Taj ,Akbari hotel..If u can afford man go there..
CTS lady employees are also very competent,and intelligent and Sober.Depending on the region they r upto the mark.
I found many experienced employees like 3 yr 4yr 7+ year are shifted from other reputed IT companies to CTS.
Now u can judge why they changed to CTS..

But its true the comments posted here on this blog I heard similar when met with my collegues who had worked in Cognizant.
Common thing in all those I found is, they are very happy to come out of such company where growth is not structured and processes are not set. And stays no where to compete with TCS, Infy or wipro..

So this only shows that there are Good and Bad perspective in each place.
Guys, don’t get harassed, discomfort, effected from regionalism. And if you are getting no matter in Cogni or in any place just switch..
if this trend continues then there would be no janta on whom these crappy things is going to be happened.
Its all upto you and believe that you are among them as in whatever the count 50000 you are also included.
So never blame. If you can fix the issue, get it fixed and try that the same bad experience what you have should not be repeated.
PS: If you lazy don’t want to change(context is for bad things) the place you are working or at the higher level Society then you are not authorized to comment on that.

If you feel Cognizant is not a good place to work, so be it. Try finding a better company to work and try making it better than it already is. This can happen only if you have a substance called POTENTIAL. Rather than making remarks that this is wrong and that is unfair, do something to make it right, or else keep your peace. And yeah, if possible, someone please tell me a better company than CTS and substantiate it. I’ll give you a million reasons why CTS is better. But by chance you are in trap, do escalate than just leaving company quitely. You have got all rights for your own survival. If still management wants to take mal- decisions, leave it to them and switch.

Onsite, package, exploiting opportunities holds good when you are working with peace.
In case unfortunately you get caught under cunning manager, there is no room in Cognizant to escape from harassments.
Company does not have single well defined committee to deal with such complaints seriously and resolved successfully.

Let me tell you why not cognizant, and why Wipro, Infosys and TCS.
1) Cognizant has highest liquidity in US, not in India.
2) Cognizant shows high profit but never distribute the profit.
3) Cognizant is not intellectual organization, It claims to be MNC, but never follows HR policies as MNC.
4) Apart from that Cognizant is non ethical organization in term of HR.
5) When i appeal ppl to join Indian company, so that their talent can be utilized to grow Indian company, and money can be sustain in India.
6) Cognizant is very stingy in their approach.
7) The infrastructure atleast in pune, is worse.
World still runs with bad people and good people, but we should encourage good things.
The claims i have made after being with CTS for (7) years, and i feel it was not a good investment in term of monitory gains and Intellectual investment.

CTS is the first company, where I have seen that people do not listen to what their boss says.
Even on this forum I could see lot many comments which says CEO is not capable to stop bad practices in company.

Many simple things are complicated here.
Just type name of person in outlook. It gets displayed reverse.
Company encourages to call by first name, so we hardly remember last name. That to if that person is south indian, surname does not seem familiar.
Tell your manager, you want release from project, all other team mates but you will get it.
Ask for leave, manager will argue saying what if everyone starts demanding leave. Idiotness, look at the reason and provide solution.
Plenty of employees in cognizant are on bench. Just put one gossip among them. Those go on over the full ODC within day.
In matter of conflict / expectation mismatch, no one respect your decision or opinion. They only know to get on sarcasm.
You are just interest in work,
Either way some or more people will try to trouble you if you are talented person.
Those who stay there are either because they find its best place for mal practices or becuase can not go out to survive with cunning attitude.
Cognizant internal blogs also reflect same. Politics, CEO / Chandra cant to about it, ridiculous experiences by ladies n lot hell…

If i resign after one year i.e after i have become progrmmaer analyst from programmer analyst trainee, what would i get in my work experience certificate? In my experience, Cognizant is very professional in all its matters.
HR is very co-operative and as far as growth is considered - you grow with the company! And since it is one of the fastest growing organizations, there are lot of opportunities.
And yes, I am neither a Brahmin nor a Mallu and my words still remain the same. If you value yourself, this is the right place for you. If you have the passion, Cognizant will give you platform to showcase it.

Read on the incidences where HR uses language of r-a-p-e to girl, the gang of DC in pune cognizant who runs system with fake HR and corruption cropped in, how can such company be good in ethics?
Cognizant professionlism = cunningness + stupidness.
Only blind person can say if you value yourself this company value you.
I know one of my team mate, she was getting harassed by her manager. So called dedicated winners and great seniors did nothing to save a girl. HR was just like shit speaking language of co-operation and internally helping that crook manager.
More over, tradition in cognizant is people easily help wrong practices than good work.
I am writing this with all true evidences and my own observation. I am neither looser nor got bad experiences on myself but whatever comments I could read on this blog about un-ethicalness of this company are really true & holds good well with buzz of opportunities, fast growth & bla bla..

After HR interview was over.. they said they will call for documents verification by next week. i did not get any calls .so i called them after 1 week. suddenly they are telling i was rejected in the manager round– How is this possible.??? i am shocked to hear this. The same HR said i was selected and i am through with the Technical rounds and manager round and then only she took me the HR round…. This is pathetic..
All mangers and HR’s are Doing scandals like Back door process collecting lakhs of rupees for a single position.. This is True.. this happens especially in cognizant— i have the evidence also…Foreign MNC’s are far better in recruiting process. Cognizant is not that bad place to start your career. I worked for 2 yrs in HYD Cognizant which includes 1 year bench. Here as a fresher everything depends on luck (abt ur Project, Manager, Hikes).

WORK :
hahaha GOOD JOKE there is no work at all, i mean challenging and intresting work. I dont know why this people visit top engineering colleges for campus on first slot. For copy paste, JSP ,
Excel work they do really need to come on first slot.
WORK CULTURE :
As per my experience i enjoyed working with Cognizant. very professional…. (plz exclude RMG)
SALARY
This times even hikes are worst(2% gr8 Number),I dont know why this happens only in Cognizant.If you see quarterly results, its earning @ 33%(much better than INFY,TCS,WIPRO) on every quarter.
HR :
This is big Joke in Cognizant mainly with RMG.
I feel other department HR’s are OK.
I am happy to work with Cognizant, have very good experiences.
In prev posts i have seen people saying leave Cognizant if u dont like, many thanks to them.
I left Cognizant :). Now I am very very Happy with 150 % hike, very good work and much better life.So guys what ur thinking …….. If u really want to make the difference ?? U know what to do …..

Please see the place surrounding CTS building, It is never cleaned by CTS, because it is municipality land.
See the Infosys and wipro , they keep their campus clean and also the surrounding place which belongs to municipality.
If you happen to be in PUNE , check with pune HR and RMG how they fake people of insurance. You also confirm about you. whether CTS pay to insurance company or not.
If you happen to be in PUNE, ask the canteen owner CTS do not pay them and that is the reason they compromise with food.CTS pays the canteen after 2 months, It means serve people free for 2 months and after CTS pays to the canteen owner.CHEAP PEOPLE.
If you happen to be in PUNE, people who stays have to pay for their meal. CHEAP ORGANIZATION CHEAP METALITY.
If you happen to be in PUNE, check what HR recreation activity is provided by them.and then compare with Infosys facility. CTS has provided a single TT table for more than 6 thousand employee. HOPELESS ORGANIZATION.

if you have any idea of finance..economics..
Revenue(profit) = earning(from client) - expenditure(on resources,facilities)
you can have huge profit by maximising your earnings or minimizing your expenditure..

Thanks for the feedback. I do understand the term cost cutting and have been a victim myself.
And I know how it hurts to be at the receiving end, esp if you are starting out in your career.
If I were you I would write to the end clients and let them know… that would hit CTS where it hurts…. this ranting on various websites will not make one bit of a difference. As long as the client does not know, CTS does not care.
You should also write to campus placement people and warn future trainees of the problems…
Thats the only way you can make a difference …else this will just get lost.

What a company and What a super management!!!
When I got selected in this company, they intimated the date of joining aound one year later.
In the first mail from the compnany they gave joining location as Pune and on the very next day I got another mail mentioning the joining location as Chennai.
Then after 3 months I got another mail that date of joining has been preponed. So we had to adjust all these changes. Anyhow we canceled the previous tickets and bought new tickets with many problems.
We joined the compnany on the given day.But again after a week they said that the training center was not ready and will take around 2-3 weeks.
You prepone the date and then tell them that we are not ready. WOW!!!
Then we had to go back to our native or spend the time in Chennai.
At the end we were about to finish our training they extended training program saying that currently they had no projects. Ok no issue. But even after extended training, many of us got BENCH and some were shifted to other technology.
They shifted us in different offices after every 2-3 weeks. This happened thrice.
What a fantastic management in “THE FASTEST GROWING IT SECTOR COMPANY”!!!!

For freshers..I recommend not to join cognizant if you are planning to grow in near future… then please avoid this…company.
I joined the company in 2006 and it started from the 14K, then at the time of confirmation they did the flat hike for every one and its about 18K…After that for the past 1 and half year they never revert back. i worked in the project for day and night and still the 2nd bucket .. which every one will get.. watever he is doing.The appraisel is done for the name sake.. and instead of increasing salary from the april ..they are increasing it from the october..they have eaten up our salary for 6 months..When i compare with my frnds who are working in TCS and Infy for the past 1 year they are getting much more than me.
Now my junior has joined in the Infy and TCS last year and they will be getting more than me after october. is’nt it a shame. It just seems that i am wasting my time here.
Frankly speaking ..in terms of employee satisfaction this company is BIGGGGG ZEROOOOO. This company is not chucking out the people but playing with them very effectively. Think of the people who are coming from one corner of india to wrk in chennai and for the past 2 years if you are not even liable to get the 20K… Wat the hell u’ll do here? This company is not at all compatible to the companies like TCS infy Satyam Wipro… What i mean you should be satisfied either by atleast any one of the factors either from the salary or from the place… But for us both the things are worst right now…no salary..no place… we have to think lot ..how to go home… getting flight ticket is out of hand now…and train is total waste of time… I wonder why this company is recruiting people from the northern part.. if they can not open there single branch…. 1. Cognizant does not cook up resumes. It has good employee strength with skill-sets to not to do this stupid act.
2. Cognizant is one of the highest payers at Onsite

Every one facing this salary hikes now a days, not only freshers but also those expereinced.
Due to US economic crisis.. Now a days Freshers are not Recruited in a huge like those in 2004 to 2005. also the fresher salary and the Hikes were reduced. i work for a Big MNC… 2 years back the default Hike was 12% but now inspite of ur Good performance the top Rating Hikes is reduced to 14% and goes up to 10% and least is 7%
If that guy in the prev post has problem with the salary def he has to quit and Go for better salary… But this is the current trend. Even He will not be given more than 20% hikes in the other company. unless he stays for 2 complete years in one company.

CTS is Chennai Technology Solutions. 80 % popultaion is tamil. IF you are tamil then only you can join this company.
North Indian please keep off from this comapny u’ll get only humilation nothing more than that. (North Indain means non Tamil).
90% people going onsite are from chennai and tamil. I heard a shocking news recently. A north Indian started the practice in 1999, growed to 500+ strong people, practise was doing very well, north Indain become diretor. A tamil from chennai came out of blue, with the help of higher management (big tamil bosses) fired north Indian director. Tamil took over a practise and become SVP, now all the project are moving to chennai. All north Indains have give option to quit or move to chennai if they want to work with CTS.

Let me tell you a incidence of this TAMILism in CTS.
Premkumar Balsubramanian is one of the managers working in Chennai PCOE group.
This guy is unmarried until late 30’s bcoz his parents could not find best match for his elder sister.
This psychopathic guy became uncontrollable and started behaving rubbish to the girls working under him. Two girls resigned from CTS to escape this stupid guy & harassment.
Matter escalated to VP & even above. Cognizant just flown a pipe and till today has not taken any strict action against such manager only bcoz he is tamil & has got contacts to his tamil boss.
This is how culture in Cognizant goes.
