Economic Slowdown?
This has become a fancy word for the companies to use it for their selfish reasons.
Last week in a meeting, my company said that this quarter they have managed to book 150% more projects and last quarter they have had revenues of 30% more than projected numbers.

L&T Infotech Fired 10% of its employees?
This is an unconfirmed report
Friday remained black for L&T Infotech employees. The Company which never involved in hire and fire policy now getting the heat of recession in the global market which came into picture when L&T Infotech terminated more than 10% of its employees from Mumbai, Chennai and Pune centers.
Firing was because of all were waiting for the project no firing happened due to bad performance.
HR person came and packed the bags of terminated employees and within 5-10 minutes the employee became jobless and as the market is not in the good shape, employees who are fired will have to struggle a lot to search another job. Instead of firing of employees from IT Industry or any other industry, first their salary package should be reduced and even if the conditions are not changed then only such type of major decisions should be taken.

Employers Getting Aggressive with Disgruntled Workers
Hassled HR managers are all too familiar with lawsuits by unhappy employees. Indeed, they seem to grow on trees these days, with workers filing suit with the most unlikely charges. Two of the most unbelievable were those reported by HRnext recently - an employee running an escort service from his day job ( http://www.hrnext.com/news/index.cfm?id=417 ), and the recent Supreme Court case where a plumbing supply worker claimed age discrimination where younger workers had been fired over the same issue ( http://www.hrnext.com/news/index.cfm?id=559 ).
Now it seems employers are taking the offensive with unhappy workers. HRnext just reported on how the EEOC is unhappy with a tripling in retaliation claims by employers( http://www.hrnext.com/news/index.cfm?id=552 ), which is a sure way to get in trouble. But beyond that many companies are ready to head trouble off at the pass - by suing the employee first. The “New York Times” featured tales earlier this month about several such situations.

Satyam set my Status as ‘Absconded’
Hi All,
I am the ex Satyamite and worked for it 2 years back. Recently, I changed my job and during the BG verification by my current employer, I came to know that Satyam has set my status as ABSCONDED in their Sign database. I don’t know why it happened even when I have all the documents with me like Releiving Letter, Service Certificate, Full and Final Settlement document, Form 16 and the Work Experience Letter received from Satyam. I am the member of Satyam Alumni and can access it by using my id/pwd. I send mails to the person who send the report to my current employer but she is not giving the proper response.
If any of the Satyam HR frequently visits this site and reading this post then please do change my status to Normal Release as the ABSCONDED status will create problem for me as and when I change a job and whenever I submit my documents for any Visa Processing for the verification.
If my status is not set to normal relase then I am thinking for the legal action against the Hyderabad based Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (http://www.Satyam.com)

Accenture, Gurgaon : Mass walk-ins but not interviewing candidates
I recently had this experience with Accenture. I got a call from a consultant and was asked to appear for an interview in Accenture, Gurgaon. I went for the interview only to find that there are already a huge crowd waiting outside the office gate since the past 3-4 hours. There was no provision to sit, the place where the candidates were waiting was the area in front of the lift, without even a fan, forget an AC. The place was suffocating. And after waiting for such a long time, we were told to fill up a form with our details and that they will contact us later. I never received a call.

The Pros and Cons of Breaking a Job Bond
A guy was asked in his interview with TCS whether having a bond of Rs. 50000 helps in retaining employees, his answer was straight forward “jisko jaana hain woh to jayega hi, having a bond or not doesn’t matter”. The guy was rejected in the interview; perhaps he did a good to himself by not joining a company which forces employees to stay using threat means like bond. But the case for having a employee bond cannot be ruled out completely, if there are employers who believe in exploiting employees there are disloyal employees too. It is fair for companies, which invest a lot in training to have a moral bond. But in no case it should be used as a means to torture employees, if you have a bond with your employer but you are not getting any work (on bench) or you are not happy with your work, it makes sense to leave. If you cant work/live happily with your present employer, your productivity would be low any way, making your employer unhappy.
I don’t recommend breaking a bond but in extreme cases if you wish to, understand the pros and cons well. There are several pros and cons, which are related to breaking bond:
